October was a lazy month. And eventful.

Sudeep got married. And it was the largest gathering of the STAR-PLUS after Rahul’s wedding. I am guessing this is going to be a regular feature since the next big event is going to be Ankit’s wedding in February. I am hoping that I do get placed by then and am able to attend that one ЁЯЩВ

And since the marriage is in Guwahati, I would also be able to make a stopover at home ЁЯЩВ

At ISB, I have applied for my first job. Its for a business development role at a biotech startup. I would love to work in such an environment and would be a lovely place to learn almost about every aspect of the business. Keeping the fingers crossed!!

  • Khuda hota

Another lovely song from East India Company.

  • The Resume Conundrum

This was supposed to be the easy part. However, after coming to ISB, I have realized that I am even below the baseline as far as having a so called good resume goes!!

Another thing is that business grads do not have any sense of aesthetics when it comes to resumes, and we are taught to cram in as much information into that single sheet as possible. It looks like a really badly printed novel. No thought is given to the readability of the entire document and the smallest size fonts are used. I was almost in tears when I saw one of the “better ones” from last year’s batch.

Sometimes I am saddened by this lack of any imagination that is ingrained into business grads. Though the entire MBA is one huge learning journey, I sometimes wonder if there is also a huge loss of creative thoughts in the entire process.

  • The Delhi Trip

    First up – Congrats Gogo!!

The trip was a load of traveling around, caught a lot of traffic jams. Did a lot of catching up with some old friends. Lots of eating out. Got Bansal to clean up – not an easy task I tell you. Caught a live concert, played cards, ate breakfast at NII (Oh how I miss that!!), and almost missed the return flight.

Even though I am in Hyderabad, I am still mentally stuck in Gurgaon ЁЯЩБ

  • Movie marathon

There was only one choice to be made. To sleep early, or do a movie marathon. Thankfully, I chose the latter ЁЯЩВ So here I am. An hour before I start from ISB for the airport, and I have just completed watching three awesome movies, back to back.

The first one was a Japanese animated movie, Spirited Away. Just found out that it was the first anime to win an Oscar. Deserved one if you ask me.

This was followed by Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz. ‘Nuff said!!

Finally, after a long wait, I ended up watching Boy A, by far the best movie of the evening. Loosely based on a true story, it track the difficult journey of a child convict trying to lead a normal life after completing his sentence. Immensely touching, and a brilliantly made movie. A must watch if you ask me.

Anyway, I must now complete the packing bit, and get ready to ride to the airport.
